SKINPEN® is a FDA approved device designed to perform a cosmetic procedure that utilises the technology of automatic skin micropunctures using sterile needles contained in a disposable end.

The TriFX RF-assited microneedling via Lumenis TriLift™ device received its FDA clearance for non-invasive face and body rejuvenation. Unlike other microneedling technologies in the market, it does not use needles but rather ultra-thin electrodes that thermally ablate the outer surface of the skin to reach the deep dermis.

How does it work?

SKINPEN® Microneedling

Each of our bodies has innate processes that react to injury by producing new cells and collagen to heal the damage. The SkinPen® achieves results by taking advantage of this natural process through the use of a finely-tuned micro-needling pen.

This device initiates your natural healing process by creating hundreds of temporary micro-sized openings or micro-channels in the skin. These “fractionated” micro-channels are created thanks to the design of the SkinPen®’s disposable needle cartridge, which achieves results without the use of thermal energy or chemicals applied to the skin.

The Treatment

During the procedure, a topical numbing cream will be applied to the treatment area to minimize discomfort. The device will then passed over the skin, creating small punctures. The punctures are very shallow and do not cause any significant bleeding. The procedure usually takes around 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the size of the treatment area.

SkinPen® microneedling is typically integrated with PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) or a cocktail of vitamins, amino acids, micronutrients and hyaluronic acid to promote a more hydrated, healthier, and glowier skin. SkinPen® helps the absorption of those active ingredients into the skin leaving it nourished.

What should i expect?

When Can I See The Results?

The SkinPen® results vary from person to person. The number of sessions required and the depth of treatment will depend on what goals and results you would like to achieve.While multiple sessions are recommended to achieve optimal microneedling results, noticeable changes are typically seen just one week following treatment and gradually improve as the body’s healing process promotes the production of healthy new cells and collagen.

Patients with uneven skin tone and fine lines may see SkinPen® results after just one procedure, while those looking to soften the appearance of acne scarring may require several procedures.

What Can I Expect After Treatment?

Immediately after treatment, you may experience some slight redness or swelling of the treated area. This is a positive clinical result which indicates that the follicles have responded to the treatment. You should be able to resume normal activities immediately after treatment.

Typically we advise that you stay out of direct sun for a few days following the treatment and to apply sun screen if needed.

How does it work?

TriLift™ TriFX Radiofrequency Microneedling

The RF energy heats the underlying layers of skin, causing constriction and tightening of the skin, as well as the stimulation of collagen and elastin production. Because the RF energy is delivered so deeply, it can produce faster results that are more dramatic.

Unlike other microneedling technologies in the market, TriLift™ TriFX does not use needles but rather ultra-thin electrodes that thermally ablate the outer surface of the skin to reach the deep dermis.

The ultra-thin electrodes create micro-channels via RF ablation to induce controlled micro-wounds and controlled thermal damage. This ablation leads to a wound healing process that regenerates younger and smoother looking skin.

The Treatment

After cleansing your skin, our liscensed medical professional will stamp the TriFX handpiece over the skin as the fine electrodes create micro-channels and release RF energy into the skin. You will experience a warm-to-hot sensation. The triFX RF microneedling procedure is gentle, relaxing, and requires no numbing cream, unlike other types of microneedling.

What Can I Expect After Treatment?

RF microneedling may make the skin pink and warm, similar to a mild sunburn for 24 to 48 hours. The skin may feel slightly rough for about 5 to 7 days as the micro-channels heal. Skin smoothing and tightening from RF microneedling will begin to show after approximately 10 days and continue for up to 90 days as collagen and elastin increase.
